Welome to my blog. This is where you'll find my thoughts on images, projects, equipment and all other things photographic.

A pleasant surprise

I'm not very good at entering competitions - I generally never get aroiund to it - but a few months ago I received a mail shot from the National Wildlife Federation in the US about their annual wildlife photography competition. I thought I'd enter a few images to see what happened. I ended up being a finalist with the image below of two Black Headed Gulls. I didn't get the 1st or 2nd place prize in the Birds section, but I did pick up one of the few 'Honorable Mention' awards, which was a pleasant surprise given that there were 29000 entries. The photo will appear in the next issue of the Federation's magazine and on their Website from next week.
